Dr Shivani Patel is a Visiting Endocrinologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales and Garvan Institute of Medical Research and a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New of South Wales.
Dr Patel completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Western Sydney University, following which she completed her training at Westmead, Campbelltown and St Vincent’s Hospitals.
She has a keen interest in atypical forms of diabetes and is currently undertaking a research study which aims to improve the understanding of autoantibody-negative type 1 diabetes as part of her PhD. She has published her research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national diabetes and endocrinology meetings. She enjoys attending annual conferences and strives to keep up-to-date to deliver evidence-based care.
Dr Patel’s areas of interest include all forms of diabetes (including type 1, type 2, gestational) and general endocrinology.
In her spare time, you will find her either chasing after her small human or enjoying a delicious meal with friends and family.
